LAUNCH: DSWD OPLAN PAG-ABOT | 06.30.2023
July 6, 2023 Attending the media launch of Oplan Pag-abot Program of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian. Oplan Pag-Abot, as articulated by Sec. Gatchalian is part of the Department's effort to “expand social protection, most especially to the families and individuals in the street situations.” This program will provide various interventions to the reached-out families and individuals such as medical assistance, food support, transportation and relocation aid, livelihood opportunities, emergency financial assistance, transitory family support packages, and transitory shelter assistance. Included in the intervention is helping these families to return to their hometown through the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-Asa Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. As Metro Manila Council President, I give my full support to this undertaking to help alleviate the situation of families and inviduals dwelling in the streets.
