POV: Education hits different in Makabagong San Juan.
Today, we welcomed President Bongbong Marcos back home to San Juan as we rolled out tablets for all 13,000 public school students along with Rocco, Cong. Bel, Vice Mayor Angelo, our Councilors and Sec. Sonny.
But the glow-up doesn’t stop there. Our students have fiber internet in their classrooms and homes, smart TVs, free school and P.E. uniforms, customized Makabagong San Juan rubber shoes, emergency go bags, and even maple wood basketball courts.
Our learners are supported every step of the way—with educational assistance, graduation incentives, cash rewards for honor students, and teachers equipped with laptops and incentives of their own.
Because of these investments, San Juan is now ranked #1 among the country’s highly urbanized cities in functional literacy, with a 95% rating from the Philippine Statistics Authority.
Huge thanks to President Marcos for the 1,000 school bags and school supplies distributed today, the ?20,000 grants for our 105 San Juaneño Presidential Scholars, and the support for more classrooms through the National Classroom Building Program.
