HOME l LANDMARKS l DAMBANA NG PINAGLABANAN DAMBANA NG PINAGLABANAN DAMBANA NG PINAGLABANAN (“war arena memorial”), was built to commemorate the first ever battle in the 1896 revolution of the Filipino people against more than 300 years of Spanish colonization. This was the site of what was then known as “El Deposito”, the underground water reservoir built during the Spanish times to supply water to Manila. Sa pook na ito itinayo ng mga kastila ang tinggalan ng tubig na may lawak na dalawang ektarya at may lalim na dalawang talampakan. Dito naganap ang labanan noong ika-30 ng Agosto, 1896. Ginamit hanggang noong panahon ng itayo ang Amerikano nang tinggalan ng tubig sa San Juan at ng salaan ng tubig sa Balara na pinamahalaan ng dating Metropolitan Water District.
