JV warns SJ spas with “sex” acts

 

San Juan City Mayor Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito today ordered the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) to keep a close eye on all massage spas in the city. 

The order was issued by the Mayor following an operation and spot inspection conducted by the San Juan Police, Eastern Police District on March 25, 2009 (8:30pm) at Eightmen Spa, a massage spa located at Brgy. Little Baguio, alleged to have engaged in prostitution. 

Similarly, Ejercito issued a stern warning to all establishments in the city that charges will be filed against them if and when violations of the city ordinance have been committed. 

“I do not and will not tolerate any business establishment within my fence in San Juan that are engaged in prostitution, illegal gambling (whether online or otherwise) and drug-related activities. In fact, I rejected a business application to operate online gambling in San Juan,” the young mayor admitted.

           Ejercito called on the public to be vigilant in their surroundings and barangays as this will help the city officials in enforcing the law. He said that in fighting illegal activities in the community, there must be a unified and concerted effort between the residents, the local government and law enforcers.

           “It takes only a call or text to report a crime in your area. We need public vigilance in order for us to carry out our public duties and responsibilities effectively and efficiently,” Ejercito added.

           Meantime, there was no prostitution activities found out by the San Juan operatives led by PSI Joel Caburnay. Instead, the General Investigation Section found a violation by the Eightmen Spa of the Municipal Ordinance No. 127 Series of 1993, also known as “Failure to Secure Occupational Permit”.

            The following were arrested for the said violation and have been referred to the City Prosecutor for Inquest Proceedings:

           1)       Jennelyn Manalo Condat, 19 years old, single, Novaliches, QC

           2)       Melissa Layug Bastes, 26 yrs. old, single, Novaliches, QC

           3)       Ma. Criselda Pilongo Manalang, 23 yrs. old, single Meycauayan, Bulacan
